Adobe Soundbooth is the audio editing component of CS5. You can use it to create loops or clean up existing audio, play around with pitch and timing, quickly adjust volume levels, apply special effects, and more.
The program is relatively unchanged since CS4, but there are a few small additions. When working with multiple tracks you can now resize the track window, for instance, either to squeeze more tracks onto the screen, or to zoom in on something that requires your attention. And a new right-click Split Clip option will instantly divide a track in two at its current marker position.
Adobe have also expanded their audio resource library, with over 10,000 sound effects and 130 customisable Soundbooth scores available for your immediate royalty-free use. Just drag and drop them into your project, then combine and customise the effects to suit your needs.
Please note: in order to download the Adobe Soundbooth CS5 trial you must create an Adobe account, if you don't have one already. Follow the download link, click Download Now, then Create an Adobe Account and fill in the form. Once you've finished you can log in and download Adobe Soundbooth CS5, along with any other CS5 components you might like to try.

Verdict

Adobe Soundbooth CS5 is a competent audio editor, but little changed since CS4, and there's plenty of lower-priced competition around
