Nero 2016 Platinum is a capable media suite with tools for organising, editing, converting, playing, and of course burning your media files.
The revamped launcher organises its tools in five sensibly-named sections: "Manage & Play", "Edit & Convert", "Rip & Burn", "Backup & Rescue" and "Extras".
Modules include Nero MediaHome, the place to track all your photos, music and video files.
Nero Video provides quick and easy video editing and DVD/ BD authoring.
Nero Recode rips disc contents or regular audio and video files, converting them to a particular format, to play on a certain device, or burning them to disc.
Nero Burning ROM is the core of the package, of course, burning CDs, DVDs or Blu-rays, optionally encrypting your content or splitting it across multiple discs.
Nero 2016 Platinum adds the ability to stream video, music and pictures from your Android and iOS phone, tablet or PC, directly to your TV.
Run the suite on a dual monitor system and you'll be able to preview your content full-screen on the second display.
Audio tracks can automatically be enhanced with your preferred tools: Normalise, DeClick, Noise Reduction, a 10-band graphic equalizer, and more.
There are more templates and designs for your CD, DVD and BD covers and labels, as well as state of the art support for paper printing stock.
New profiles for the latest iOS and Android devices help you convert your media with a click.

Verdict

There's no compelling reason to upgrade here, but if you don't yet have anything similar then Nero 2016 Platinum is a solid all-round multimedia suite.
